Who Gives A Crap – World Dump Day: The AI Breakup Crisis

As Valentine’s Day approaches, Who Gives A Crap launched a bold and humorous campaign to spotlight the rise of AI-generated breakups, shifting relationship trends, and the modern challenges of emotional communication. New research revealed that 38% of people were planning or considering a breakup ahead of February 14th, making it one of the biggest breakup seasons of the year. Even more surprisingly, 30% of people admitted they would be open to using AI to draft their goodbye messages, largely due to struggles in finding the right words.

To combat the increasing detachment in digital breakups, Who Gives A Crap introduced World Dump Day (February 13th): a human-first alternative to AI-generated breakups. The campaign encouraged individuals to break up with kindness and dignity, offering expert-written breakup messages that balanced humour, honesty, and empathy.

  3. Situationship Struggles: 16% of people cited situationships as their biggest reason for calling it quits, showing that undefined relationships often lead to emotional strain.
